Selective Tutoring is offered for primary school students to help them gain entry into a selective high school.
Parents apply for their child to sit the selective test when they are in Year 5. The selective entry test takes place in May when the child is in Year 6.
Applications usually open in October when the student is in Year 5. In the application, parents need to nominate three selective schools that they wish to attend.

Opportunity classes, also known as the OC, are offered in some primary schools that cater to gifted and talented students in Year 5 and Year 6. Parents apply when their child is in Year 4. Successful students may leave their current school at the end of Year 4 to attend a school with an Opportunity Class. The OC is not a pathway to Selective Schools. However, it does help. When students are in an OC class, they get more enriched content which helps them to succeed in the selective placement test in Year 6.

Scholarship Tutoring is offered to help students gain a scholarship for private school.
Students sit a scholarship test depending on the school parents wish to apply for.
Some schools offer the scholarship test in Year 5 and some offer in Year 6 for an entry in Year 7. There are different scholarship tests: ACER, HAST, AAS, Edutest..etc.
Obtaining a scholarship (full or partial) is determined by a few factors:
