The Countdown to Selective School Testing is here

The Selective High School Placement Test is held this year on Thursday, 12th March.

Our elite students, who will sit for the Selective School Test on Thursday 12th March 2015, have just finished an intense year of preparation. These students have engaged in a highly academic and focussed skills program for over four hours each week, studying the elements of Mathematics, English and General Ability. We wish all of them every success in this assessment, and know that they will do their best. They have worked extremely hard, giving up many of their leisure pursuits and hobbies to focus on improving their skills and knowledge in these key learning areas.

We have been so impressed by their dedication and total commitment, and they are all to be commended for their maturity of attitude and behaviour that each of them has shown when listening to and applying instruction. They have been exposed to levels of literature and strategies in Mathematics that are not available at other learning centres, nor as part of their regular course work at school, and we believe that these higher order skill opportunities give our students a significant advantage over other candidates across New South Wales.

Many parents seek a Selective School placement for their child entering high school for many reasons, the most significant being the opportunities for an extension and greater challenging curriculum, particularly one that fosters lateral thinking and problem solving skills. It is an interesting fact that when looking at the top performing schools across the state, the Selective High Schools fare extremely favourably, and as such are highly sought after.

The Selective School’s Assessment is highly competitive, and for every four students who sit this test, only 1 will be successful. If students are not successful they should not be disappointed.

We thank our 2014/15 cohort for their willingness to accept all of the educational challenges they have engaged in this year, and wish them all every success in their futures.
