Working as a tutor means fostering a learning environment that is both nurturing and exciting for each individual student. I believe in making learning engaging, useful, and fun – whether it’s working on dissecting a difficult text, strengthening how they construct an essay or approaching that stressful HSC. Having the chance to study engineering has helped me further develop my analytical and problem-solving skills and to apply that to how I encourage students to develop their ability to think about the bigger picture and articulate themselves. I enjoy nothing more than seeing a student gain confidence in not just their academic results, but in their belief in the strength and potential of language to convey ideas, argue a point, and make a mark on the world.
