Our OC Prep Course is structured to maximize your child’s ability without burdening them with too many assignments. The OC preparation course empowers your child to build the Maths, English, and Thinking skills needed to excel in the OC Test while fostering an increased confidence to tackle their tests.

OC Preparation Course
The NSW Opportunity Class Placement Test is a computer-based test that has 3 sections. Our OC Preparation Course covers the 3 components of the test: Reading, Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills. We cover thinking skills in both our English and Maths classes.
Students Will:
- build various reading skills through exposure to a diverse range of text genres.
- have exposure to higher-level of maths concepts and develop problem-solving
- develop critical thinking skills.
- learn exam techniques.
- Learn strategies to reduce exam stress.
- learn time management skills.

OC Preparation Course Schedule
- Weekly lessons from Term 2 in Year 3 to Term 1 in Year 4
- 1.5-hour class per subject per week
- Continues with 10 weeks of targeted preparation in Year 4, Term 1

- Your child will receive a GEA OC Preparation Course text Book per subject per term
- The program includes 16, mock tests, which are close in structure and difficulty as the actual test.
- Each mock test is followed by detailed, personalised feedback to track progress and guide improvement

Our program includes targeted support to help students master test-taking strategies and build confidence under exam conditions.
- 7 three-part mock tests (Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills)
- Mock test are a similar structure and difficulty as the actual test
- detailed, personalised feedback following each mock test
- Time management techniques to optimise pacing under pressure
- Multiple-choice question (MCQ) strategies to improve accuracy
