About our English Program

Why It Matters

English is the foundation of every subject. Strong English skills don’t just improve grades in English but also boost performance in Maths. When students can read carefully, write clearly, and think critically, everything else follows. For reading comprehension, Students who read actively, making inferences, identifying themes, and evaluating arguments, perform at a higher level across all subjects. We want students to learn how to question, evaluate, and develop their own well-informed opinions.

At Global Education Academy, we believe every child has a unique voice. Our English program is designed to nurture that voice helping students in Years K-12 become confident, articulate communicators who genuinely enjoy reading and writing. Whether your child needs to strengthen their foundational skills, tackle creative writing tasks, or prepare rigorously for selective school entry or HSC, our experienced and inspirational teachers provide structured, targeted support every step of the way.

What Our Program Covers

A complete English curriculum

Our curriculum is based on research based methodology and follows the NSW curriculum. It has specific focus areas that build progressively at every stage of learning.

Reading & Comprehension

We use literal, inferential, and evaluative reading strategies with different text types for deep understanding.

Creative & Narrative Writing

We focus on narrative, descriptive, and imaginative, and many more types of writing, emphasizing structure, voice, and originality.

Persuasive & Analytical Writing

Students write opinion pieces, arguments, and text responses with clarity, evidence, and logical structure. With regular practice we aim to master persuasive techniques.

Grammar & Punctuation

Students apply the rules of English correctly to improve their expression by working on their  spelling patterns, sentence construction, tense, punctuation rules, and vocabulary enrichment to elevate every piece of writing.

Exam Technique

We teach time management, question analysis, and response strategies for tests like OC and selective assessments. We also guide on the approach to take for tricky questions to cover all the question within the given time.

Vocabulary & Word Study

We help students develop a rich and precise vocabulary through  context, and regular practice. We also encourage kids to read different genre books which enhances their vocabulary.

Most students begin their selective school English preparation by the start of Year 5, giving students 12–18 months to build skills and practice exam technique. However, we generally recommend beginning in Year 4 and our Intro to Selective and Scholarship course is the starting point for smooth transition into Selective prep.
