Your child is given early exposure to the literature, critical thinking and standards of English skills required of them in the next few years and in the lead up to the HSC. They will be empowered to reach their academic potential as they move into Year 10.
Your child will develop a love of literature and strive to gain higher-order analytical and appreciation skills when engaged in a range of literary texts.
One of the focus aspects of the course is the provision of targeted instructional units of work that explicitly teach students to analyse tasks, use critical analysis of tasks and to interpret more complex literary language, concepts and text formats.
Many students at this stage in their learning struggle with the basic concepts of interpreting assignment work. This course supports students in this process, providing them with modelled examples and many practical applications to build confidence and competence when completing any given assessment or assignment task.
Our Year 9 course covers all the syllabus outcomes for Year 9. It focuses on conceptual understanding and ensures that students are competent in their mathematical ability. Your child will get deep exposure to all the concepts and techniques based on their level. They are also empowered by analytical skills and problem-solving strategies.
The course is structured for 4 terms of 10 weeks each. Each term, your child will receive their own GEA Maths and English books that is mapped to the syllabus and written based on Cognitive Load Theory.
In Week 9 of each term, they are assessed to measure their progress. Full feedback is given to your child and you will also receive a comprehensive report on their progress and strength and weaknesses in each area.
